In scientific activity focuses on the development problems of university pedagogy and educational research organization - the educational process, writing and preparing to print textbooks, manuals , etc.

At the department conducts research in the following areas:

• Study of shock waves in the air of various kinds of media;
• Improving the quality of personnel operating environment DSNS Ukraine by developing and implementing maintain aeroіonnogo regulatory regime;
• Monitoring and predicting the consequences of natural and man-made disasters;
• Mechanisms of state management of physical training and sports in higher educational institutions of Ukraine;
• Adaptive risk management in emergency situations of natural and man-made.

The Department is actively involved in scientific-methodical and scientific conferences of different levels.
